1979, Amelia Family Campgrounds was established for the enjoyment
of many to have a peaceful, relaxing retreat away from the hustle

Hutchinson
received SPBGMA's 2006 Promoter of the Year Award for the outstanding
work that he has done the past 28 years putting together at
the great bluegrass festivals at the Central Virginia Family
Bluegrass Festivals hosted by the Amelia Family Campground.
John books some of the biggest names in the bluegrass business
and always brings in the new up-and-coming new talent as well.
John and Fern Hutchinson were again nominated for SPBGMA's Promoter
of the Year Award at the SPBGMA's 24th National Convention that
was held at the Sheraton Music City Hotel - Nashville, TN Feb
1-4, 2007.

In
2008, John & Fern were again presented with the SPBGMA Promoter
of the Year Award.
2012
marks the 33rd Anniversary of the Central Virginia Bluegrass
Festival in Amelia and the festival in May was the best ever.
